Contextualização e teorização da imigração : caso português

Abstract

O presente artigo vem, na sua essência, traduzir e dar significado ao mundo mediático das migrações, iluminando no seu íntimo o que de fato é colocado em causa na abordagem a este fenómeno. Tido como símbolo da contemporaneidade, suscitando, portanto, uma confrontação sobre as estruturas sociais e políticas das sociedades tradicionais, traduzidas na figura do Estado-nação. Trabalhando, por outro lado, a conceptualização do fenómeno em causa, tido como fase elementar para o seu correto gerenciamento, e a sua compreensão com recurso às teorias dominantes e explicativas das migrações. Utilizando-as posteriormente para o alcance do cenário português na reconfiguração imigratória do século XX para o século XXI.

The present article, essentially, translates and gives meaning to the media world of migration, illuminating in its depths what is in fact called into question in the approach to this phenomenon. Considered as a symbol of contemporary times, therefore raising a confrontation with the social and political structures of traditional societies, translated into the figure of the nation-state. Working, on the other hand, the conceptualization of the phenomenon in question, considered as an elementary phase for its correct management, and its understanding using the dominant and explanatory theories of migration. Using them later to reach the Portuguese scenario in the immigration reconfiguration from the 20th century to the 21st century.
