A influência dos cuidadores informais de filhos portadores de paralisia cerebral na superação das adversidades

Abstract

A paralisia cerebral é uma condição crónica de caracter neurológico, não progressiva, secundária a uma lesão no cérebro precocemente desenvolvido. Acarreta inúmeras limitações e requer inúmeras adaptações da família face à tarefa de cuidar. Os pais cuidadores assumem de imediato a função, realçando a mãe como cuidadora principal por resultado das necessidades que o filho padece. Pretende-se, compreender a adaptação e os esforços da prestação de cuidados, da família que convive com esta limitação. O presente estudo, pretende avaliar a sobrecarga dos cuidadores informais (QASCI) do descendente com paralisia cerebral. Para esta investigação, foi aplicado o QASCI a quinze progenitores, doze mãe (80%) e três pais (20%), dos quais três (duas mães e um pai), responderam a uma entrevista semiestruturada, onde possibilitou reunir informação crucial do seu dia-a-dia como prestadores desses cuidados. No grupo reunido, os resultados não demonstraram sobrecarga na tarefa de cuidar, apenas em algumas dimensões da escala. O que nos leva a assumir que os cuidadores que participaram no estudo, embora sob o impacto da tarefa, conseguem lidar de forma consciente perante as limitações do descendente, reagindo de forma adaptativa às várias situações que causam stress, que advém das comorbilidades da paralisia cerebral. Através do tipo de vinculação, que se cria entre mães-filho, gera forças intrínsecas de superação e desenvolvem gratificação na tarefa que desempenham, através de competencias como, resiliência e os mecanismos de coping, privilegiando de um suporte social adaptativo, conduz à diminuição de situações potencializadoras de stress, promovendo qualidade de vida e saúde.

Cerebral palsy is a chronic neurological condition, not progressive, secondary to an early brain injury. It entails numerous limitations and requires numerous adaptations of the family in the face of the task of caring. Caring parents immediately assume the role, highlighting the mother as the primary caregiver as a result of the needs that the child suffers. It is intended to understand the adaptation and efforts of the care provision, of the family that lives with this limitation. This study aims to assess the burden of informal caregivers (QASCI) of the descendant with cerebral palsy. For this investigation, the QASCI was applied to fifteen parents, twelve mothers (80%) and three fathers (20%), of whom three (two mothers and one father), answered a semi-structured interview, where it was possible to gather crucial information from their day-to-day care providers. In the group gathered, the results did not demonstrate overload in the task of caring, only in some dimensions of the scale. Which leads us to assume that the caregivers who participated in the study, although under the impact of the task, are able to deal consciously in the face of the descendant's limitations, reacting in an adaptive way to the various situations that cause stress, which arise from the comorbidities of cerebral palsy . Through the type of bonding, which is created between mother-children, it generates intrinsic forces of overcoming and develop gratification in the task they perform, through skills such as resilience and coping mechanisms, privileging an adaptive social support, leading to the reduction of stress-potentiating situations, promoting quality of life and health.
