Abstract

O autor começa por analisar as mudanças que ocorreram com a crise do "sub-prime" e com a crise despoletada em 2008 ao nível da responsabilização dos membros dos corpos sociais das instituições financeiras. Enveredando pela análise das novas opções a realizar na "boa governação" das instituições financeiras, refere a "nova relevância dos não executivos", salientando que se torna necessário mudar a "cultura" outrora dominante. Atribui significativa relevância à indispensabilidade de se proceder à estruturação de equipas de "alto desempenho", sublinhando, ainda, a imperiosidade de "bons exemplos" vindos dos níveis hierárquicos superiores.

The Author starts by analysing the changes originated by the "sub-prime" crisis and by the crisis triggered in 2008 related to the accountability of the members of the corporate bodies of the financial institutions. When analysing the new options to be undertaken in the "good governance" of financial institutions, he mentions the "new relevance of non executives", highlighting that it becomes necessary to change the formerly dominant "culture". He gives significant relevance to the indispensability of structuring "high performance" teams, emphasising, still, the need for "good examples" from upper management levels.
