Arquitectura e natureza : relação e poética em Keil do Amaral

Abstract

O presente trabalho de investigação questiona qual a relação entre Arquitectura e Natureza. Qual a essência do construir e de que modo a transformação da ordem natural em ordem artificial tem o potencial de desenhar a poesia. Também, qual o potencial que esta relação tem de responder a problemas técnicos, não só do ponto de vista funcional, mas tirando partido deles para criar situações de valor poético, na pequena e na grande escala. Estudamos o pensamento e a obra de Keil do Amaral, por ter ao longo da sua carreira tido como linha orientadora estas mesmas questões, tanto na pequena escala de uma casa de férias, como no desafio de uma grande infraestrutura. Por fim, fazemos uma leitura crítica ao Parque Florestal de Monsanto, por ser um elemento fundamental da estrutura verde de Lisboa e por se tratar de um projecto que na larga escala se relaciona com o desenvolvimento da malha urbana em complementaridade.

The present work of research questions the relationship between Architecture and Nature. What the essence of building is and how the transformation of the natural order into an artificial order has the potential to draw poetry. Also, what the potential of this relationship to respond to technical problems is, not only from a functional point of view, but to take advantage of them to create situations of poetic value, both on the small and on the large scale. We study the thought and work of Keil do Amaral, for having along his career these same issues as a guideline, both on the small scale of a vacation home, and on the challenge of a large infrastructure. Lastly, we make a critical study of Monsanto Forest Park, because besides being a fundamental element of the green structure of Lisbon, it is a project that on a large scale is related in complementarity to the development of the urban network.
