Requalificação do interior de um quarteirão : o quarteirão do Cineteatro Municipal de Santo Tirso

Abstract

A relação existente entre a experiência da arquitectura atual e o conhecimento da arquitectura do passado é universalmente reconhecida. Um juízo histórico sobre os acontecimentos anteriores justifica as operações a realizar hoje, onde cada um desses juízos tem implícita uma orientação que pode ser utilizada no campo prático. Relendo sobre o ponto de vista histórico da arquitetura, os arquitetos deveriam mostrar o grau de importância que os mesmos atribuem aos acontecimentos passados e à sua interpretação. Assim seria de fácil percepção como um conjunto de modificações e de alterações introduzidas globalmente no meio urbano, tende fundamentalmente a apoiar as necessidades humanas e a melhorar o meio que as rodeia. Tipologicamente ao longo dos anos extistem várias formas de organizar um quarteirão, não só interna mas também externamente, sendo o mais interessante deste elemento a possibilidade de articular espaços cheios e vazios, mediante a transição entre domínios públicos e privados, envolvendo uma requalificação, como é o nosso caso de estudo. Com a presente dissertação pretendemos criar possibilidade ao quarteirão de se expandir para a cidade, criando espaços de transição semipúblicos e integrando-os numa rede de mobilidade pedonal. Cria-se uma mais valia para os edíficos estruturantes e também para a cidade no geral. Este estudo tem então como objectivo demonstrar benefícios do processo de Reabilitação Urbana nos Centros Históricos das cidades, incentivando a recuperação e valorização do património edificado existente, para que num futuro as cidades se relacionem duma forma harmoniosa e objetiva.

The relationship between the experience of the current architecture and the architecture of the past knowledge is universally recognized. An historic judgment on the earlier developments justify operations to be undertaken today, where each of these judgments have implied an orientation that can be used in the pratical field. Rereading about the historical point of view of the architecture, architects should show the degree of importance that they attach to past events and their interpretation. So it would be easily understood as a set of modifications and amendments introduced globally in urban areas, mainly tends to support human needs and improve the environment around them. Typologically over the years there are many ways to organize a block, not only internal but also externally, the most interesting of this element the possibility of articulating full and empty spaces, through the transition between public and private domains, involving redevelopment, as is our case of study. With this thesis we intend to create the possibility of expanding the block to the city, creating semi-public transition spaces and integrating them into a network of pedestrian mobility. It creates an asset to the structural buildings and also for the city in general. This study intend to demonstrate the benefits of Urban Rehabilitation in historic centers of the cities, encouraging the restoration and upgrading og the existing building heritage, so that in future the cities can relate harmonious and objectively.
