Arquitectura agrícola : as colónias do Estado Novo para o Barroso

Abstract

A dissertação procura entender a natureza e a importância da arquitetura na implantação do Projeto de Colonização dos Baldios de Montalegre e Boticas pela Junta de Colonização Interna no início dos anos 40 do século XX. Para tal, houve um levantamento dos materiais de arquivo existentes que foram analisados e interpretados. A cronologia dos projetos da Junta, foi seguida de modo a entender como a aplicação de critérios racionais transformaram e caracterizaram a arquitetura e o território do Barroso mas que, hoje, revelam o projeto político falhado do Estado Novo.

Abstract: The dissertation seeks to understand the nature and the importance of architecture in the implementation of the internal colonization project in the north of Portugal, more especificly in Montalegre and Boticas by the government institution Junta de Colonização Interna, in the early 1940s. For this end, a survey of the existing archival materials was analyzed and interpreted. The chronology of the Junta´s projects was followed in order to understand how the application of rational criteria transformed and characterized the architecture and territory of that region, wich today reveal a failed political project from the portuguese government, Estado Novo.
